Sophia Crocker, M.S.

Sophia Crocker serves as the Director of Human Resources and Risk Management for the District, overseeing the District’s comprehensive human resources and risk management programs. Sophia leads the development and implementation of strategies, initiatives, programs, and policies to attract, engage, and retain a highly effective workforce and advance the District’s organizational development efforts. She strives to foster an inclusive, equitable, and engaging work environment for all to thrive.

Sophia began her career in public sector human resources management in 2010, specializing in recruitment, selection, classification, and compensation. Prior to joining the Las Virgenes Municipal Water District in 2021, Sophia served as the Director of Classified Personnel for the Simi Valley Unified School District where she oversaw the delivery of human resources services for classified (non-teaching) employees.

Sophia holds a Master of Science in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from California State University, San Bernardino, and a Bachelor of Arts in Intensive Psychology from University of California, Santa Cruz. She is a Public Sector Human Resources Association Senior Certified Professional (PSHRA-SCP) and holds a professional certificate in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion from Cornell University. She is currently pursuing her Certified Public Risk Officer – Water/Wastewater (CPRO-W2) designation from Appalachian State University.
