We’re Securing Your Water Future.

As of last week, the Las Virgenes-Triunfo Public Financing Authority (PFA) has secured a total of $335 million in state and federal financing for the Pure Water Project, including a $251 million Water Infrastructure Finance and Innovation Act (WIFIA) loan through the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. Also included is $84 million in loans and grants through the State Water Resources Control Board, with $50 million from the Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF).
These financing packages are vital for customers as they’re not only investing in a sustainable water future, but also significantly reducing the amount customers would otherwise contribute to the $466 million Pure Water Project.
All water provided to our region is imported and purchased from the Metropolitan Water District, travelling over 440 miles before reaching your tap. This means that during droughts, poor water supply conditions, or just general uncertainty, our region is at risk.
Rather than waiting for these challenges to determine our water future, the Pure Water Project Las Virgenes-Triunfo is innovating the first local and reliable water supply, giving our community greater control over our future. Once complete, the project could produce up to 30% of annual water needs for the region, reducing dependence on imported supplies and exposure to rising imported water costs.
This PFA has been pursuing low-cost federal and state financing for the Pure Water Project for over a decade. These financing strategies put customers at the forefront, investing in a sustainable water future for the public while maximizing affordability for the community.
Construction is underway in Agoura Hills, with the Pure Water Project targeted to be operational by 2030.
